When selling your grant writing services, you need to understand:
- ‘who’ you are working with,
- what their expectations are, what the reality is,
- and how long you need to get a result.
Even if you are new to grant writing, this is something that you can create based on any type of experience (volunteer, education, work, etc.) you have, and what types of grants and/or nonprofits you want to work with.

Before you even get to pricing your services, you need to create what your services are and for whom.
“But Holly, what if someone comes to me and needs other services?”
If you want to serve them, you absolutely can!
But it’s important to get some clarity on what you want to do with grant writing.
There are SO many different ways that you can go.
To give you a picture of what this looks like, some Academy students focus on writing federal grants for municipalities while other students only write foundation grants for social justice nonprofits.
These services are going to look very different.
