About Daphney Jean
Daphney Jean is an accomplished fundraiser and grant-writing consultant. For five years, she assisted a multi-million dollar international organization with building robust systemic infrastructure to increase revenue generation, overseeing operations, and developing tactical strategies to cultivate and steward major gift donors. She also oversaw two donor programs: the organization’s workplace giving campaign and monthly giving.
For the past three years, she has used her incredible talents in building strong and effective operations, captivating storytelling, and project management to build SMJ Consulting, a grant writing firm that offers grant writing, funding strategy development, and research services to nonprofit organizations.
Daphney has written grants for numerous clients, including international civil society organizations, community-based organizations, and philanthropic entities, with budgets ranging from $50K to $30M. In just the past three years, she has helped these organizations secure over $21M in grant funding with support from federal agencies, private foundations, and corporate foundations. Funding has come from prominent funders like the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Hewlett Foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, W.K Kellogg Foundation, Wellspring Philanthropic Fund, the Meyer Foundation, and the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation to name a few.
